With its dimensions of roughly 23 x 28 x 6 cm and a weight of 1.7 kg, the OB-4 remains surprisingly light and mobile. The rotating carrying handle doubles as a stand and integrates the antenna, so the device can be moved effortlessly from the living room to the studio or the park. The clean control surface with a large volume knob and minimal buttons follows the characteristic Teenage Engineering aesthetic and invites tactile interaction. In terms of sound, the OB-4 delivers a wide frequency range with deep bass and clearly resolving highs. Via FM signal, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm line-in, and the experimental Disk mode, virtually any source can be connected. The integrated tape function stores the current program so tracks can be rewound, looped, or slowed down. Thanks to the high-capacity battery, up to 72 hours of radio playback or about 40 hours of wireless listening are possible, while the universal power adapter from 100 to 240 volts reliably recharges when needed.
